In my research I focus on students' learning processes of physics and how they experience their learning. Together with my research group, I analyze not only students' processes of conceptual development of particular topics (e.g., mechanics) but also, how they understand and enact concepts related to scientific paractices such as argumentation and scientific investigations.

I am furthermore interested in how (pre-service) teachers learn to assess and promote student learning of physics, that is, establish diagnostic competence. In particular with a focus on teacher learning, the notion of reflection plays an important role, regarding processes of reflection as an essential tool to improve professional competence.
